What is IMAGO?
“IMAGO” is taken from Genesis 1, where God created mankind in His image (Imago). He is the ultimate Artist, and we believe we imitate our Creator whenever we create art from God-given talents and perspectives. Our desire is to provide a welcoming community for Christian artists and art lovers to explore the intersection of life, the Arts, and faith. Our ultimate goal is transformed artists creating transformed Art to transform culture.
Who is IMAGO for?
IMAGO is for the Christian artist and art lover. Both amateurs and professionals of all skill levels find encouragement and inspiration. Members’ interests range from visual art, music, and poetry to the culinary and performing arts.
For the Christian artist, IMAGO provides:
> Community with other Christian artists
> An outlet to love and serve the church as artists, while receiving support and encouragement from the church
The Christian art-lover will find:
> A way to support and encourage Christian artistic expression
> Exposure to Christ-centered art.

Do I have to be a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church
to be involved with IMAGO?
No. IMAGO is based at Houston’s First Baptist Church and was founded by church members; however HFBC membership is not a prerequisite. Our hope is for any artist to find a welcoming, Biblical community for regular teaching and worship. If you aren’t connected to one yet, then please join us on a Sunday at HFBC.
