Song: Teach Us What We Yet May Be, by Catherine C. Arnott

Artist Statement

Humanity, created in God’s Image, has been blessed with both heart and head by the Almighty God to experience life and live with purpose- and it is his Will that our journey is to know Him and seek Him and to “be like living sacrifices” (Romans 12:1) as the way to Glorify our Lord Jesus Christ – thinking, feeling and doing all for his Glory- making our lives in its totality a spiritual act of worship.  We are given the strength and intellect only through Him to work for True Light and Good.  It is our responsibility to explore, discover, invent, renew and refresh- how will you engage and partake- will you contribute to the Holy One’s Design?

Lyrics

TEACH US WHAT WE YET MAY BE by Catherine C. Arnott
God who stretched the spangled heavens Infinite in time and place
Flung the suns in burning radiance
Through the silent realms of space,

We, Thy children, in Thy likeness,
Share inventive powers with Thee
Great Creator, still creating,
Teach us what we yet may be.

We have conquered worlds undreamed of
Since the childhoods of our race,
Known the acstacy of winging
Through uncharted realms of space,

Probed the secrets of the atom,
Yielding unimaginined power
Facing us with life’s destruction
or our most triumphant hour.

As Thy new horizons beckon,
Father, give us strength to be
Children of creative purpose,
Serving man and honoring Thee.

Til our dreams are rich with meaning
Each endeavor Thy design
Great Creator, lead us onward
Til our work is one with Thine.
